We designed this structure to project out over a koi pond on beautiful property in Napa, CA. Organic roundwood and rounded deck layout blend in with the landscape while contrasting with 6x6 vertical grain western red cedar posts and beams. Downed madrone logs were picked from the property to be used as tie beams and ridge pole. Cedar rafters, purlins and shakes form a curved roof. Rot resistant decking and a stout platform will ensure this sitting area lasts for many years. All cedar was torched in traditional Japanese shou sugi ban style for longevity, beauty, and subtle camouflage with the surrounding landscape.
